Roosevelt's Objective
It was a bold move be President Theodore Roosevelt to attempt to control the power of the industries with the power of the government. There was a lot of pressure in the political aspect of the fight to make a deal with the owners of the major companies and the citizens of the country. The large industries were not really a threat to President Roosevelt's imagination. In fact, he thought that the big businesses they were not bad, but superior to the other companies competing against them. Roosevelt understood that in order for these companies to be big in business, they had to raise prices enough to abide the demands of those corporations.
President Roosevelt's goal was to set a restriction by the government for these companies to keep them in reason. The goal was to not permit the companies to pay unfair wages to their employees and to overprice the product or merchandise to the public.
